You Can Make Luxury With Purpose

For Career Women Who Are Unapologetically Ambitious and Fiercely Informed

As women, either internally or externally, we are taught to wait - to be 100% prepared, polished, perfect. To raise our hands, follow the rules, and only go for it when we’re 100% sure we won’t fail. But that need for permission? It’s the thing that keeps so many of us stuck.  Do you relate?  What if the thing holding you back isn’t a lack of resources, but the belief you need to have it all figured out first? But do you really have everything ever figured out 100%?  NEVER.  EVER.  My conversation with Georgia Dant, founder and CEO of Marfa Stance, the gorgeous luxury outerwear brand popping up in the hippest urban streets, was a masterclass in trusting your vision before anyone else can see it. She didn’t wait for a perfect plan or external validation. She boldly launched Marfa Stance mid-air, literally. What she built isn’t just a brand; it is a movement rooted in authenticity, adaptability, and fearless creativity. If you’re hesitating, take this as your permission slip: start before you’re ready. Start today.  The magic is in the momentum.

— Two Reasons Why You Need to Negotiate Your Compensation Package Other Than To Get More Money
— Ellen Pompeo & Sharon Stone Putting Hollywood on Blast for Unequal Pay

“I was very comfortable with failure. It's brave and bold to try it. And it's okay to mess up a bit.”

Key Takeaways:
 — When you build with community, you build something that lasts
— The most powerful thing you can bring to the table is your conviction.
— Real impact happens when creativity meets responsibility.
— If it hasn’t been done before, that’s your cue to do it.
— Why trusting your gut is a business strategy—and a damn good one.

Two Reasons Why You Need to Negotiate Your Compensation Package Other Than To Get More Money

1) It shows your employer that you know how to advocate. If you can clearly articulate your value and fight for what you deserve, it signals that you’ll do the same for the business. That’s leadership in action.

2) It strengthens the relationship. Companies spend months, sometimes longer, searching for the right candidate. If you’re already delivering, they don’t want to start over. Coming to the table with confidence and clarity reinforces that you’re someone worth investing in.
Negotiation isn’t risky, it’s strategic. And yes, they expect it.

Ellen Pompeo & Sharon Stone Calling Out Unequal Pay

Ellen Pompeo and Sharon Stone aren’t just actresses, they are truth-tellers pulling back the curtain on Hollywood’s most toxic open secret: women still get paid less for doing more. Pompeo, on Call Her Daddy, didn’t hold back: “Nobody wants to hear a woman be proud of making money. They just don’t.” Despite being the face of Grey’s Anatomy, she had to fight hard to match Patrick Dempsey’s paycheck. When she finally secured her $20M deal, to no woman's surprise, she was met with criticism instead of celebration. Sharon Stone, meanwhile, revealed she was paid a mere $500,000 for "Basic Instinct" while Michael Douglas took home $14 million - and he didn't even have to show his man parts.  And what was she recently offered for a new role after 30 years - THE EXACT SAME PRICE - $500K.
So here’s the call to action to YOU!  If Ellen and Sharon are still out here having to justify their worth after decades of success, what do you think they’d say to you? Ask for the raise. Double your rate. Own the room. Speak the number that makes you nervous and DO NOT apologize for it. Because the system won’t hand it to us as we have become acutely aware - we have to demand it. And guess what? You’re worth every damn dollar and 20% more.

Hi, I’m JJ.

Since starting the Justice Dept, I have increased women's wealth by over $100MM in just over 5 years. Want to know what inspires me to do this work? My clients' surprised reaction when I manage to get them much better terms for themselves and their companies, whether talent agreements, employment, severance, partnerships, asset sales or investments. They often admit that they never thought they could get that result. Not even hoped. This blows my mind
