1) It shows your employer that you know how to advocate. If you can clearly articulate your value and fight for what you deserve, it signals that you’ll do the same for the business. That’s leadership in action.

2) It strengthens the relationship. Companies spend months, sometimes longer, searching for the right candidate. If you’re already delivering, they don’t want to start over. Coming to the table with confidence and clarity reinforces that you’re someone worth investing in.

I don't know about you, but I was stressing all day about Dolly - we cannot lose her now - until she finally came out and said she's "not dead yet". Regardless, it had me thinking about the barriers she broke in the music industry - three facts of which are right here. Which ones did you know?  
1) Before women were allowed to own their voices in Nashville, Dolly Parton became one of the first commercial female songwriters to write her own hits and keep her publishing.
