For Women Who Are Unapologetically Ambitious and Fiercely Informed

How Robin Berzin is Getting To the Root of Your Health with Parsley Health

Hard week in NYC with the deadliest shooting in 25 years and our hearts are broken for the families and this city we LOVE and call home. So many reasons it shouldn't have happened, be it guns, security or a medical reason - the root causes are there and they need to be remedied. No more bandaids. This week on Takin’ Care of Lady Business I sat down with Dr. Robin Berzin, founder and CEO of Parsley Health, who basically said “enough” to the broken healthcare system. Instead of the 7‑minute doctor visit and a prescription to shut you up, Parsley digs into the root cause, treats the whole person, and actually listens, ESPECIALLY TO WOMEN, who are too often dismissed or misdiagnosed.

Robin didn’t just build a company, she built a movement. She’s raising millions in venture capital, disrupting an industry that doesn’t like being disrupted, and proving that women can lead the future of medicine.

If you’ve ever walked out of a doctor’s office thinking “that’s it?” - this one’s for you.

The Root Cause of The Gender Gap

At TJD, we have been studying the root cause of the gender pay even before we started the company and the question always was -  how can WE make the change ourselves instead of asking those in the more privileged gender for permission.? So every time another report comes out showing women are still paid less, promoted less, and funded less, people act like it’s some unsolvable riddle. It’s not. The gender gap is propped up by three pillars:

Bias. Women are underestimated, over‑scrutinized, and penalized for the same behaviors that make men look “leader‑like.” Negotiating makes a man ambitious; it makes a woman “difficult.”

Structure. Work was built on the assumption that someone else — a wife, a mother, an unpaid caregiver — would pick up the slack at home. That’s why we have systems that punish career breaks, undervalue care work, and make leadership tracks inflexible.

Culture. From the boardroom to the living room, society still treats ambition as a compliment for men and a liability for women. We’re expected to do more with less, and to smile while we do it.

Until we dismantle all three -  bias, structure, and culture - the gender gap isn’t going anywhere. The good news? Once you name the root causes, you can actually start fixing them. And that’s where real change begins.

Changing this is our mission at The Justice Dept. Let us know your thoughts and reach out to tell us how we can help.

Do Not Use AI For This

We all new AI had a biases and here's a big example of it rearing it's misogynistic little head - be careful where you get advice as it might as well be coming from the man himself.

Hi, I’m JJ.

Since starting the Justice Dept, we have increased women's wealth by over $100MM in just over 5 years. Want to know what inspires me to do this work, other than making women money? My clients' surprised reaction when we manage to get them much better terms for themselves and their companies, whether via talent agreements, employment, severance, partnerships, asset sales or investments. They often admit that they never thought they could get that result. Not even hoped. This blows my mind. As we know at The Justice Dept. you are all worth everything you ask for and more. Reach out and we’ll show you how!
