For Women Who Are Unapologetically Ambitious and Fiercely Informed
How Tai Beauchamp Made Quitting a Success Story
Summertime is in full swing and my kids are away for a month at summer camp. I wish that meant that I was traveling the globe with rose in one hand and whatever else suited my mood in the other. Instead, as a very type A woman, I feel a nagging to work, organize and get shit done that I can't do with two little people yelling "mom", "mommy", "Mother" 100 times a day. Thank god I have listened to my gut that says I can do both. And it's exactly what we at The Justice Dept preach on the daily because we help women build businesses that serve their purpose, not drain their power. That’s why I had such a powerful conversation with Tai Beauchamp on this week’s episode of Takin’ Care of Lady Business. She’s a beauty editor turned wellness entrepreneur who hit a wall and didn’t just pivot, she rebuilt. As she put it, “I was out here performing for everyone else’s version of who I should be and it was killing me. I had to shut it down and start choosing myself.” Her story is a masterclass in saying no to burnout and yes to building on your own terms. If you’ve ever felt trapped by the grind, this episode will hit hard. Plus it's summer, take the fucking day off! Those Aperol Spritz won't drink themselves.

3 Compensation Package Terms Just as Valuable As Salary, Maybe Even More
Salary may be the headline, but it’s far from the whole story. If you're not negotiating these three terms too, you're leaving serious money and power on the table:
Bonus – This isn’t just about end-of-year performance. You should be pushing for a signing bonus when starting a new job, a guaranteed bonus if you are leaving money on the table in your current job to take a new one, and always a performance bonus, based on both your performance and the company's. That’s immediate cash, locked-in upside, and incentive-based earnings, all negotiable and all critical.
Severance – If they can hire you, they can fire you. Understand what they will pay you if they need to downsize and it's not your fault. Make sure you're getting paid on the way out, and know how long and the terms of that payout are, especially if you’re walking away from another opportunity or relocating your life.
Title – Your title dictates how you're viewed inside the company and who comes calling outside of it. Don’t let them downplay your role. As women, we are hired on experience, where men are hired on potential, so that title affects your future comp and credibility. And by the way, you deserve it!
At The Justice Dept, we negotiate every term like it matters, because it does. This is how women build real wealth, security, and influence. About to leave a job or start a new one? We got you.
Ageism Amongst Women, Not Just Older But Younger
Just when we thought we were fooling the system with our youthful glow as we age, we get hit with this shit, a new McKinsey report says early career women suffer from ageism the most! Is it any wonder, then, that they want to start their own businesses? When will it stop? Tell us what you think.

Hi, I’m JJ.
Since starting the Justice Dept, I have increased women's wealth by over $100MM in just over 5 years. Want to know what inspires me to do this work? My clients' surprised reaction when I manage to get them much better terms for themselves and their companies, whether talent agreements, employment, severance, partnerships, asset sales or investments. They often admit that they never thought they could get that result. Not even hoped. This blows my mind
